Wednesday's news

A very happy birthday to my dad and to Lenny on Wednesday! The extended Russell family is in Maine with my parents to celebrate - they are hosting the "Slow Olympics" this week. No word on the medal count yet.

Chuck and I had separate rehearsals on Wednesday evening, so we didn't get to spend much time together for our actual anniversary date. For some reason, someone was taking pictures at my rehearsal (for the Piazzola tango opera at the end of August), so here I am fluting. Yes, that girl next to me is playing the accordian!

Yesterday Lenny and I went back to the dog park for another try. He is still favoring his leg formerly know as "good." He ran around a little bit but mostly just wanted to roll and roll and roll in dog pee. He smelled just lovely. And all of the humans at the park kept trying to pet him! Ewww! There was also a big white poodle there named "Babette," coincidentally after Chuck's new favorite movie, Babette's Feast.

Speaking of movies, my two thumbs are way up for WORDPLAY! Chuck said he would have enjoyed it more if he actually was interested in crossword puzzles. You would think it wouldn't be very exciting, but it had interesting characters and a lot of drama.

Chuck is finishing up his applications for a number of things, including a huge essay/proposal project for the Pacific Symphony round. He was up late last night writing.

PROJECT RUNWAY IS BACK AND IT IS GREAT!
My early favorite is "Barbie guy" (I don't know their names yet) - his day job is designing Barbie outfits for Mattel. This is a picture of his first garment, made only from materials in their apartments. The white fluttery dress was by another contestant and it's made completely out of coffee filters!

They also had a preview show and they brought back a bunch of Season 1 and 2's contestants, including Austin Scarlett (who ironically is now designing wedding gowns for Amsale), Jay, Chloe, Daniel V., and of course Santino.
